We, School of Martial Art Trust (SOMAT) formerly known as Yokohama Karate-Do (est. 1982), are a martial arts training school that is focused on providing our students with the training they need to become better, both physically and mentally. Our students walk out with the character and confidence to make their mark in the world, equipped with the knowledge and skills that take them way ahead in their future.
We offer supportive and inspirational environments for students to train and grow into strong individuals. Our passion for teaching and excellence means we achieve more than outstanding results. We strive to build confident and kind students while aiming at delivering excellence that is truly outstanding.

Curriculum Overview
SOMAT aims at offering all our students a broad and balanced curriculum that provides them with the real life skills to defend, get stronger and become the best at what they do.

Discipline
Everything at SOMAT starts and ends with a disciplined way of life

Self-defense
Learn to protect themselves and their loved ones during the time of adversities

Strength Training
We help our students get stronger by our traditional forms of training

Advanced Training
Senior students are exposed to advance training that equip them to fight against large numbers

Flexibility
Its not always about strength. We teach our students to improve their flexbility to a great extent

Teamwork
Practising together builds camaraderie and helps the students progress better
Our Checkpoints
Properly Trained Instructors
Each of our instructors, including the junior most ones have atleast 5 years of practise under their belt
Tournament
Our students get to attend tournaments every year and test their skills against the best
Belt Grading
We have belt grading tests twice a year, that helps the students to progress onto their next belts, keeping their learning journey active
